Mr. Carl Stone, Sr. (HARLEM, Ga.)



HARLEM, Ga. - Entered into rest Friday, July 1, 2005 at his residence, Retired Lt. Col. Carl Stone, Sr., 73, husband of Mrs. Norma Walther Stone. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Starling Funeral Home. Mr. Stone was a native of Cortland, N.Y. and a Navy and Army Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a Registered Nurse at the V.A. and Eisenhower Army Medical Center and a Medical Training officer with the 382nd Field Hospital. He was a member of the V.F. W. Post 3200 and served as past Commander, he was a volunteer with the Islip N.Y. Fire Department and helped form the first Rescue Squad. Survivors include his wife, Norma W. Stone; one son, Carl W. Stone, Jr.; one daughter, Linda M. Stone, all of Harlem; one sister, Joyce Crane Montour Falls, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Christine Noelle Fox; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lie u of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Road, Augusta, GA, and the American Heart Association, 246 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
