Mr. Clyde Edwards Lamb (AIKEN, S.C.)



AIKEN, S.C. - Graveside services for Mr. Clyde Edwards Lamb will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 11:30am at Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley, SC, with Pastor Jim Kirk officiating. Pallbearers will be John C. Mitchell, Jr., James Bryan, Franklin Bryan, and Marshall Lamb. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00am until 11:00am at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Mr. Lamb, 87, of Aiken, SC, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at his home. Born in Edgefield, SC, a son of the late James Franklin and Iris Hamilton Lamb, he had been a resident of Aiken, SC, since 1951 where he was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He retired in 1983 from E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Site where he had worked as a power operator. A World War II Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army where he participated in the invasion of Normandy. He had been a Mason for 57 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Georgia Wood Lamb; daughters, Iris L. Youmans, Aiken, SC and Clydia L. Nations, Columbia, SC; sons-in-law, John Youmans, Aiken and Mark Nations, Columbia; sisters, Katherine L. Bryan, Laurens, SC, Marion L. Mitchell, Greenville, SC, and Lucille L. Taylor, Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Steven Clyde Green and his wife, Mandi, David S. Green and his wife Emily, Marci A. Nations, and Clifford Mark Nations; two great grandchildren, Carly Brooke Chavis and Liam Tolias. He is also survived by a very special brother-in-law, John C. Mitchell.
