LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Graveside Services for Mr. Zollie R. Compton, Sr., 83, of Louisville, Georgia, who died June 10, 2005, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Louisville City Cemetery. Rev. Ed Deen officiating. Mr. Compton was a native of Alabama, a resident of Louisville for 58 years having recently made Decatur, Alabama his home. Mr. Compton served as the Sheriff of Jefferson County for 32 years. He was a member of the Louisville United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a Mason and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Arrington Compton; a son and daughter-in-law, Zollie Craig and Christine Compton, Jr., Hartselle, Alabama; two grandchildren, Pamela Balk and Adam Compton; two great grandchildren, Jackson Compton and Madison Balk; four brothers, George Compton and Billy Compton both of Laverne, Alabama, Robert Compton, West Palm Beach, Florida and Luther Compton, Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Audre y Eiland and Helen Moulton both of Laverne, Alabama, Sarah Russell, Pine Mountain, Georgia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harry Jones, Mickey Jones, Willis Jones, Quillian Bryant and Dr. Jim Polhill. Active Pallbearers will be E.M. Newsome, Murray Hadden, William Hadden, Mickey Moses, M.N. "Bud" Arrington and John Jones. The family will receive friends at the Louisville United Methodist Church this Monday evening from 6-8. Stephen D.
