AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Essie Mae Hobbs, of Vernon Drive, S., entered into rest Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ways Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Stellaville. She was a native of Jefferson County. Survivors are her husband, Johnny Boatwright, Augusta; five daughters, Johnnie Michele Hobbs, Janice Kaye (Charles S.) Williams, Jacqueline Denise Hobbs, Myrtis Elaine Hobbs, Augusta, Brenda (Herman L.) Germany, Thomson; three sisters, Lelar Crawford, Walter Mae White, Mildred Burnett, Augusta; one brother, Rufus Berry, S.C.; 22 grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Crawford, Augusta; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
