Mr. Jack D. Brannon (SWAINSBORO, Ga.)

SWAINSBORO, Ga. - Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary announces the death of Jack D. Brannon, age 76, of Swainsboro, GA on Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness. Funeral services are Tuesday, May 24th, at 11 AM in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Monday evening from 6 - 8 PM. Pallbearers are nephews, Evan Brannon, Nolan Brannon, Dale Brannon, David Banks, Brandon Banks, Kirby Banks and Joe Lisenby. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Jimmy Morgan Sunday Class and the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Brannon was a native of Emanuel County and a 1950 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a US Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, retired from Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Co and was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Jimmy Morgan Sunday School Class and the Kiwan is Club. Survivors include his wife, Marcelle Smith Brannon of Swainsboro, GA; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald Earl and Polly Brannon of St. Petersburg, Fla. and six nephews, Evan Brannon, Nolan Brannon and Dale Brannon of St. Petersburg, FL, David Banks, Brandon Banks and Kirby Banks of Thomaston, GA. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or Friends of the Library Fund, c/o The Franklin Memorial Library, Swainsboro, GA.
