Mr. Louis B. Cato (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Louis B. Cato beloved husband of the late Esther Welch Cato entered into rest Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 3 P.M. with Dr. Gordon Robinson and Rev. Lucius Cato officiating followed by full military honors and Masonic rites under the auspice of John S. Davison Lodge # 677. Serving as Pallbearers will be members of I.B.E.W. local 1579. Mr. Cato was a life long resident of Augusta and was married to the late Esther Welch Cato for 48 years. Mr. Cato retired in 1988 as an electrician with Savannah River Site, I.B.E.W. local 1579 after 38 years of service. Past Master of John S. Davison Lodge # 677, and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1197. Mr. Cato also served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II where he received a Bronze Star during the battle of Rome-Arno Rhineland Central Europe, and was a Baptist. Mr. Cato is surviv ed by two daughters, Michele Cato Prather (husband Tommy) of Hephzibah, Patricia Cato Mixon (husband Arthur) of Savannah; grandchildren, Rhonda Bradley of Martinez, Kimberly Dunn of Martinez, Ashley Dixson of N. Augusta; great-grandchildren, Chandler K. Bradley, Bryson & Avery Dixson, John Dunn, Evan Dunn, Dylan Dunn, Francesca Fernandez and Anriana Fernandez. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cato was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Cato; grandson, Virgil (Beau) Felix III; brothers, James H., Eugene, Irviv, James, and sisters, Bessie, Alice, Marie, Dorothy and Clara. Memorial may be made to Alzheimer's Association 1899 Central Ave. Augusta, GA 30904. Family will receive friends (today) Tuesday from 7-9 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel.
