Vericker, Augusta drop Grasshoppers

In Greensboro, N.C., Augusta's Brad Vericker hit his second homer in as many nights as the GreenJackets rolled to a 7-2 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers to snap a four-game skid.

Brian Horwitz and Simon Klink had two hits apiece for Augusta, with Klink and Vericker both tallying two RBI.

Ben Thurmond (3-4) pitched six innings, allowing six hits, two runs and striking out seven in the win.

Greensboro allowed 10 walks in the loss.
