Teams show area's soccer might

Congratulations to the Academy of Richmond County, Aquinas High School and South Aiken High School - the area CSRA teams who won state championships in soccer recently.

I think it is a positive statement about the level of soccer that is occurring in our area. Are there other areas that can boast three state championships in a single sport? Wouldn't it be a great tournament to have the area state-championship teams have an area playoff for bragging rights to support a charity for our area?

I think it is a positive indicator of the level of the athletes and the interest in the sport. Surely, the new pro team that Brad Usry has brought to our area will experience great success.

To all of my former students at the Academy of Richmond County who were a part of the last year's and this year's state championship teams: Congratulations!
