Mrs. Lillie Bell Robinson (SPRINGFIELD, S.C.)



SPRINGFIELD, S.C. - Mrs. Lillie Bell Robinson went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born on November 23, 1913 to the late Deacon Arthur Reed and Rebecca Milhouse Reed in Springfield. She was married to the late Barzallar Robinson. At an early age, she joined the Samaria Baptist Church and was a faithful member and was a homemaker. She was loving, caring and a sharing mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her loving memories five daughters, Mary Lathon of Washington, D.C., Cornell Howard, Bernice Jenkins, Reverend Jeanett R. Bowens and Barbara R. Daughtery, all of Springfield; a devoted granddaughter, Maxine Robinson of Augusta, Ga.; three sons, Willie B. Robinson (Barbara), Arthur Lee Robinson and James L. Robinson, all of Springfield; two children preceded her in death, Patricia Robinson and Melvin Robinson; one sister, Minnie Ruth Robinson of Springfie ld; five sister-in-law, Pensacola Reed of Augusta, Ga., Louise Reed of Blackville, Annie L. Caldwell, Ernestine Robinson and Isabelle Robinson, all of Columbia; two brothers-in-law, Junior Leysath and James Robinson, both of Columbia; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Ma Ma, as we all called her, will fondly be remembered as a beautiful rose hand picked for God's heavenly garden. "She will be deeply missed." Her devoted granddaughter, Maxine Robinson has very fond and loving memories of her grandmother as a very loving person, very proud and dignified. "She had a strong belief in God. She instilled in me strong work ethics, respect for myself and other people. She taught me to have confidence in myself and that I could do anything I wanted to if I continued to trust in God. She taught me to pray before I make any decisions. She will truly be missed." The funer al services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Samaria Baptist Church in Springfield. Rev. Monroe Bush, Jr. will officiate. A wake will be held Saturday, May 21, 2005 from 6-9 p.m. at Green's Funeral Home, 19620 Solomon Blatt Ave., Blackville, SC 29817. (803-284-2184)
