The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Augusta area. The severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 3 p.m. The area will remain under a severe storm watch until 5 p.m.
A line of thunderstorms will move across Georgia and South Carolina this afternoon. A few storms may produce damaging winds, large hail and frequent lightning strikes.
