ATHENS, Ga. - Joey Side broke a tie with a two-run single in the sixth inning to help Georgia to a 7-5 victory over Auburn on Saturday.
The Tigers (31-21, 12-14 Southeastern Conference) tied the game at 5 in the sixth on Adam Stacey's run-scoring single.
But the Bulldogs (26-23, 10-15) responded when Matthew Dunn singled, and walks by Jonathan Wyatt and Bobby Felmy loaded the bases. Then Side drove a two-out pitch to center field and scored Dunn and Wyatt for the eventual game-winning runs.
Will Startup (6-4) earned the win for Georgia in five innings relief. Michael Boggs collected his third save of the season.
Grant Cardwell (2-3) allowed two runs in 1/3 of an inning for Auburn.
