AIKEN - Police are investigating the death of a man who was found Wednesday in a storage shed near North Augusta.
Donald C. Boyd, 64, was discovered about 5:30 p.m. in a shed in the 1000 block of Womrath Road, next to a mobile home from which he'd been evicted, police said.
A neighbor was at Mr. Boyd's former residence to pick up a baseball card collection when he discovered the body, said Lt. Michael Frank of the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
Police questioned the man but did not detain him.
"We have no reason to suspect his involvement," Lt. Frank said.
Mr. Boyd went to the property Saturday to pick up some of his belongings, Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said.
His wife reported him missing when he did not return home, he said.
"He had several significant injuries that we're going to try to discover the nature of tomorrow," Mr. Carlton said. "They were very suspicious."
Mr. Boyd's body is being sent for an autopsy to Newberry Pathology Associates, a group of forensic pathologists in Newberry, S.C. Results are expected back today, Mr. Carlton said.
