Rants and raves

Comments from readers:

THIS IS TRULY A DISGRACE to our police professionals that they have to work under leaky sewer pipes from the jail above down at the Law Enforcement Center. Talk about disgusting ... this is an insult to those that serve and protect us. They need to indict and prosecute whomever signed off on the construction of that sorry yet expensive facility that's had such problems all along its mere 20-year life span.

CONSERVATIVES DON'T conserve anything, they destroy. Conservatives destroy life (unjust wars), knowledge (crushing science), natural resources (opening national forests to logging and mining), our treasury (unrestrained federal debt), and personal privacy (the so-called Patriot Act). They have no conscience (or soul for that matter), and they want to destroy the world (and everyone who doesn't agree with them) and remake it to suit their own extreme theology.

THIS IS IN RESPONSE to the student who refused to hang up on his mother in Iraq. All rules should allow for special exceptions. This is one of them. I would not have even considered asking someone to hang up on a loved one who is serving our country in Iraq. Their opportunities to call home are limited and not based on what is a convenient time for us here in the states.

THIS IS A RANT for the train company here in Augusta. Why do they always have to come through town during shift change for the hospital? Everyone is trying to get to work at the hospitals off of Walton Way, and the trains make us late for work at least once or twice a month.

TO THE PERSON RANTING about expired tags, let the violators drive to North Augusta. (North Augusta Department of Public Safety's) Finest will take care of it for you.

SOCIAL SECURITY: If it ain't broke, don't privatize it.

A BIG RAVE for justice. Now Robin Williams and all the others involved should be made to pay back every dime they stole from the very sick clients at the Mental Health Center.
