Mrs. Sue Bailey Parker (MARTINEZ, Ga.)

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Sue Kathryn Bailey Parker, 73, entered into rest Monday, May 9, 2005 at Portsbridge Hospice Augusta, GA. Mrs. Parker was born May 24, 1931 in Burke County to the late Hugh McMaster Bailey, Sr. and Ola Mae Burton Bailey. She was a registered nurse, retiring from Gracewood Hospital, Augusta. Mrs. Parker was instrumental in bringing mental health services to west Alabama in the early 1960's. She was very active in church, an avid traveler, birdwatcher and nature lover. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ivan Parker, Jr. MD, brothers Hugh McMaster Bailey, Jr., Jack Bailey, Edwin Bailey, "Squat" Bailey and grandson Jared Parker. She is survived by one daughter, Sandy Parker Fowler Plano, TX ( Peter Berkman of Land O Lakes, FL); two sons, Butch Parker (Vicki), Thomasville, AL, Keith Parker, Sr. (Ellen), Beaufort, SC; five grandchildren, Pamela Beach and Bruce Parker, Jr., Beaufort, SC, Sarabeth B erkman, Plano, TX, Erin Parker and Chelsea Parker, Thomasville, AL; one great-grandchild, Emma Michelle Beach, Beaufort, SC. Other survivors are her sister, Ann Jordan and two brothers, Jessie Bailey and Larry Bailey. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday May 11, 2005 at the Vidette United Methodist Church with Rev. Sheryl Fehr officiating.
