ATHENS, Ga. - Josh Morris, Joey Side and freshman Joshua Fields each hit solo homers to power Georgia to a 6-2 victory over Vanderbilt on Sunday in the rubber game of their three-game series.
Sophomore Brooks Brown (2-2), making his first career start in a Southeastern Conference game, held the Commodores to two runs on six hits and fanned four in seven innings. Mitchell Boggs had four strikeouts in two scoreless innings for the Bulldogs (25-21, 9-14 SEC).
Vandy (30-16, 11-13) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Dominic De La Osa's run-scoring double.
Morris hit his 11th homer of the season in the fourth off David Price (2-4), who had allowed only two homers all year. He also allowed Side's seventh homer of the season.
Side's Homer and Fields' first of the year came during a four-run seventh for the Bulldogs.
