Tennessee (33-14, 13-8 Southeastern Conference) starter Luke Hochevar (11-2) pitched eight innings and struck out 13 while scattering four hits to earn the win. Sean Watson earned his fourth save this season.
South Carolina's Aaron Rawl (7-5) gave up three hits and three runs in seven and one-third innings to take the loss for the Gamecocks (32-14, 12-10).
J.P. Arencibia hit a two-run homer, his 12th this season, in the third.
