GARFIELD, Ga. - Mr. Johnson passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness. He was born on March 15, 1928, and has been a life long resident of Emanuel County. He was retired from Bridgedire Mobile Homes in Millen, GA and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Johnson and Fannie Burke. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Aszleen Johnson of Garfield, GA; four sons, Robert Lee Johnson, Jr. of Garfield, GA; Bobby Wayne Johnson of Swainsboro, GA, J.P. Owens of Stoneville, NC, Tony Felix of Millen, GA; one daughter, Katie Cowart of Twin City, GA; two brothers, Lloyd D. Johnson, Jr. of Stone Mountain, GA and James Johnson of Millen, GA; three sisters, Latrel Coleman of Twin City, GA, Irish Roberson of Augusta, GA and Lunell Hendly, Garfield, GA. Eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Visitation with family an d friends will be on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Osborn officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at The Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers, Bunny Johnson, Reamer Oglesby, Steve Johnson, Steve Hendly, Mike Newton, Steve Goins, Brent Youmans, David Clark and David Alexander.
