SRS, E.I. Dupont Co. MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Charles L. Cheatham, age 76, of Martinez, entered into rest on Wednesday evening, March 16, 2005 at his residence. A native of Greenwood, SC, he had resided in Commerce, GA for many years before moving to the Augusta area some 45 years ago. Mr. Cheatham had retired from the Savannah River Site as an Engineering Technician with the E.I. DuPont Co. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict from which service he was awarded the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medal. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 41 years, Lucille Jenkins, who passed away in 1997 And a brother, T.L. 'Thomas' Cheatham, Jr., of Bluffton, SC. He is survived by: 2 sisters, Catherine 'Kat' Gray, Greenwood, SC, Elizabeth 'Lib' Chastain, Commerce, GA; six nieces and nephews; grandchildren, D.J. and Stan Jenkins; great grandchildren, Ricky and Wendell NeSmith, Nea, Travis, Alan, Angel, Reyna, Terrell, Zarina, Silvia, Toby and Laura Jenkins; great-great-granddaughter, Caidance Butcher. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 20, 2005 from the Cryptside in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA, with Dr. Bobby Coleman, officiating. The family will receive friend from 12:00t noon until 1:00 p.m., on Sunday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA.
