The Augusta civic center architects feel the construction company building the civic center is "dragging its feet" and should put more men on the job and work longer hours.
Manager C. Richard Cobb told members of the Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority that I.M. Pei and Associates, designers of the civic center, are "very adamant" that the construction firm is not justified in seeking a delay in completion based on "inadequate information" in architectural drawings.
Mercury Construction Co., builders of the civic center, asked for a 109-day extension beyond the Feb. 20, 1979, completion date because of delays from bad weather and inadequate information in the Pei firm's drawings.
