Man grabs cash from register
Richmond County authorities were investigating a robbery at a Washington Road convenience store that occurred early Sunday.
A clerk at the BP gas station at 3333 Washington Road said a man walked into the business at about 7:45 a.m., asked for change, grabbed cash when the clerk opened the register and ran from the store.
No injuries were reported, Richmond County sheriff's Investigator Rick Chase said Sunday night.
Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is asked to call the sheriff's office at 821-1080.
Road remains closed after water-main break
Part of a southbound lane of U.S. Highway 25 near Clearwater Road in Aiken County remained closed Sunday because of a North Augusta water-main break.
Officials were unable to say how many homes were affected by the break, which occurred Saturday night.
Officials did not know how many customers might have been affected by the break.
Center makes urgent call for blood donors
Shepeard Community Blood Center is encouraging blood donations as supplies are "dangerously low," a news release states.
The shortage has occurred because of several large blood drive cancellations, the recent outbreak of flu and flulike illnesses and increased use of blood units at area hospitals, the release states.
Blood types O positive and negative, B positive and negative, and A negative are "virtually depleted."

Man says someone fired shots at him
A Hephzibah man told police a man who drove to his home fired shots at him early Sunday.
According to a Richmond County sheriff's report, Bobby Ray Edgar , of the 2500 block of Patterson Bridge Road, opened his front door to find the man in his front yard. When Mr. Edgar threw a wrench at the man to get him to leave, the man began shooting, the report states.
The bullets didn't hit anyone.
Fort sets date for March retirements
Fort Gordon's retirement ceremony for March will be held March 31 at 9:30 a.m. in Alexander Hall on Chamber-lain Avenue, according to the post's public affairs office.

Fort Gordon's Easter sunrise service will be held at Freedom Park on Rice Road at 6:30 a.m. March 27, a news release states.
The speaker will be chap¤lain Col. Albert Smith, south¤east region, Installation Manage¤ment Agency, Fort McPherson, Ga.
If it rains, the service will be held in Alexander Hall on Chamberlain Avenue at the same time.
