Mr. Jimmie Thames (FAIRFAX, S.C.)



FAIRFAX, S.C. - Mr. Jimmie Donald Thames, 91, of Tinker Town Road, near Fairfax, died Tuesday morning in the Allendale County Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Thames was born in Hampton County, May 5, 1913, a son of the late Charlie and Mamie Murdaugh Thames. He was a carpenter, having worked with BB Clark & Company in Hampton, was an Army Veteran and was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church. He was married to the late Julia Lucille Cook Thames. Surviving are daughters, Barbara and husband Tommy Reeves of Allendale, Sheron and husband Dale Gainey of Cottageville; sons, Jimmy D. and wife, Kay Thames, Jr. of Brunson, Ray and wife Brenda Thames of Fairfax, David and wife Becky Thames of Summerville, Rodney Thames of North, and Rev. Donald and wife, Angie Thames of St. George; one step-daughter, Annette and husband Danny Pellum of Allendale; one brother, Earl Thames of Lason and one sister, Alberta Hendrickson of Willingboro, NJ. There are 16 grandchil dren and 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, in the Sandy Run Cemetery near Hampton, conducted by Rev. Jay Kieve and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.
