Mrs. Agnes Turner Posey (GRANITEVILLE, S.C.)



GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest Monday, February 28, 2005, Mrs. Agnes Turner Posey, age 88, of Graniteville, widow of the late Thomas Joel Posey, Sr. and daughter of the late Thomas Samuel Turner and the late Minnie Cook Turner. She is survived by a son, Thomas Joel Posey, Jr. and his wife Jean McDaniel Posey of Aiken; two grandchildren, Thomas Samuel Posey and his wife, Linda Posey of North Augusta and Rhonda Posey VanLiew and her husband, Tommy VanLiew of Summerville, SC and a great-grandchild, Brittany Nicole Posey of North Augusta; a step-granddaughter, Pamela Clifton and a step-grandson, Ardy McCoy, both of Aiken and a step-great-granddaughter, Amanda Waller of Aiken. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy William Turner and Hugh Cook Turner. She was born in Vaucluse, SC and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was one of the former owners of J.M. Posey & Sons Funeral Home and Furniture Store. She retired as a Dietician f rom Aiken County School District with 18 years of service. After retiring from Aiken County, she did secretarial work for J.M. Posey Funeral Home in Graniteville, which later became Napier Funeral Home. Mr. and Mrs. Napier stated that she was a dedicated employee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graniteville and a member of the Jewel Gregg Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Constellation Chapter 97 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She also served as a Grand Representative to the State of Kansas from South Carolina. She was a member of the Order of the White Shrine in Aiken, SC. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Hendricks. The interment will follow in the Graniteville Cemetery. Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Graniteville will serve as active pallbearers and members of Constellation Chapter 97 Order of the Eastern Star will serve as honorary pallb earers. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home tonight, Wednesday, March 2, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. If so desired, memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church of Graniteville, P.O.
