Mrs. Alma A. Chalker (GIBSON, Ga.)



GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Alma Anderson Chalker, 92, of Hwy. 102 E., loving wife of the late Clinton "Cribb" Chalker, entered into rest Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the University Hospital, Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gibson First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cook and Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Interment will be in the Gibson City Cemetery. Mrs. Alma was a native of Hancock County, but lived in Glascock County most of her life. She was a devout Christian with membership at the Gibson First Baptist Church. She was a devoted housewife, a good mother and a hard worker. She is survived by two children, Mrs. Mahala (Herbert) Anderson of Wrens and Andy (Barbara) Chalker of Gibson; two grandchildren, Anna ( Mark) Tiner and Rochelle (Mike) Sullivan; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Abbigayle Tiner; one step-great-grandchild, Todd Sullivan and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Hayden Sulli van. Mrs. Alma was preceded in death by a grandchild, Amy Chalker and a step -grandchild, Hugh Anderson. Pallbearers are Mark Tiner, Mike Sullivan, Billy Cook, Edward Cook, Thomas Chalker and Jor McCommons. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gibson First Baptist Church Building Fund in care of Mrs. Joyce Adams, 3916 Eley Road, Gibson, GA 30810. Sheppard Funeral Home, Gibson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
