COLUMBIA, S.C. - Steve Pearce's grand slam in the eighth inning was the winning hit as South Carolina beat Niagara 6-2 on Sunday.
Pearce also hit a grand slam Saturday as the Gamecocks (9-0) swept the three-game weekend series.
The Eagles (0-6) held South Carolina's bats in check most of the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the second on Mike Medici's single.
After South Carolina tied it a 1 on a sacrifice fly by Michael Campbell, Niagara took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on Andrew MacNevin's second home run of the season.
The Gamecocks tied it at 2 on Jon Willard's home run to lead off the bottom of the seventh.
Pearce, playing in his first games of the season after serving a six-game suspension, drove in 10 runs with eight hits in 13 at bats in the series.
Jason Fletcher (1-0) got the win for South Carolina, allowing two hits and striking out three over four innings of relief.
Josh Sawatski (0-2) picked up the loss after allowing the grand slam. He allowed 10 hits and struck out three in just over seven innings.
