Mrs. Ella Mae Sasser (WADLEY, Ga.)



WADLEY, Ga. - Mrs. Ella Mae (Spann) Sasser of Wadley, died February 27, 2005. Her parents were the late Ella Arrington and James Cross Spann. Mrs. Sasser was the wife of the late Rufus D. Sasser. She was 93 years old June 22, 2004. Mrs. Sasser was born in Jefferson County and had lived here all of her life. She was an active member of Wadley Baptist Church for as long as her health permitted. She was a retired postal clerk. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Robert Sasser, a grandson, Wes Cobb and four stepchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Mae (Spann) Sasser will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donald Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Wadley. The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Surviv ors include a daughter, Eugenia S. Cobb, Midville, GA; stepson, Dr. Douglas R. Sasser, Lynchburg, VA; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Wadley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 759, Wadley, GA 30477 or the the Alzheimers Association, 223 N. Michigan Ave. 17th Floor, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633 in memory of Mrs. Ella Mae (Spann) Sasser.
