Furman 73, Chattanooga 65
In Chattanooga, Tenn., Mou¤ssa Diagne had 19 points and two other Paladins scored in double digits as Furman beat Chattanooga.
Furman (16-12, 9-7 Southern Conference) led 40-31 at the half and held the lead the rest of the game.
Chattanooga (17-10, 10-6) pulled to within three points, 46-43, at the 12:55 mark on a layup by Alphonso Pugh, but Furman went on a 9-0 run to build its lead to 55-43 with 9:46 left to play.
Quan Prowell had 15 points for the Paladins, and Robby Bostain added 11. Bostain led the team in rebounds with 14.
The Mocs were led by Chris Brown's 15 points. Brown also grabbed 9 rebounds.
Elon 58, Appalachian State 55
In Elon, N.C., Chris Chalko scored 17 points to lead three players in double-digit scoring and lift Elon past Appalachian State.
Chalko made 5 of 9 from 3-point range for the Phoenix (7-22, 5-11 Southern Conference). Scottie Rice added 13 points and Le'Vonn Jordan posted 10.
Noah Brown scored 13 points to lead two players in double-digit scoring for the Mountaineers (16-11, 9-7). Demetrius Scott scored 11 of the Mountaineers' 18 points off the bench on 5 -for-5 shooting.
Clint Deas added 10 rebounds and 9 points for the Moun¤tain¤eers.
Winthrop 65, Charleston Southern 62
In Charleston, S.C., James Shuler scored 23 points and hit two key free throws in the final seconds of overtime to lead Winthrop to a victory over Charleston Southern.
Ahead 61-59 with nine seconds to go, Shuler made both free throws for the Eagles (24-5, 15-1 Big South Conference), who have won 15 straight.
Donnell Covington's 3-pointer with two seconds left cut Winthrop's lead to one, but Craig Bradshaw hit two free throws to seal the victory. Bradshaw finished with 12 points.
