MILLEN, Ga. - Harold Norman Brantley, age 74, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005. He was a native of Candler County, a U. S. Navy veteran, graduate of the University of Georgia, a retired County Extension Agent and a Deacon and member of the Millen Baptist Church. Mr. Brantley had also served as President of the Millen Rotary Club, Chairman of the Jenkins County Commission, and was a past President of the Association of County Extension Agents. Graveside Services will be 11:00 a. m. Friday at the Millen Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Hood and Dr. Maurice Crowder officiating. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Parker Brantley; a daughter, Rhonda (Don) Starkweather of Dunnellon, FL; two sons, Phillip Brantley of Ft. Myers, FL, Jeff (Angie) Brantley of Millen; a daughter-in-law, Lynda Brantley of Knoxville, TN; a brother, Bobby Brantley of Savannah; two sisters, Bernice Rei of Baltimore, MD and Mary Bland of Tallahassee, FL; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Josh and Jason Brantley of Knoxville, TN, Collette Brantley of Ft. Myers, FL and Steven Brantley of Millen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy E. and Alice Brantley and his son, Chris Brantley. Pallbearers will be William Gunn, Bill Miller, Dobson Gay, Bobby Dwelle, Leon Burch and Reabon Amerson. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
