MCCORMICK, S.C. - Mr. Claude "Ray" Butler, 54, of McCormick, died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Buffalo Baptist Church with Revs. Ryan Eklund and Bruce Codey officiating. Interment will be in the McCormick City Cemetery. Mr. Butler was a lifelong resident of McCormick, SC. He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and the Cattleman's Association. Survivors include his wife, Kathryne "Kitty" Percival Butler of McCormick; parents, Claude Jennes and Jacqueline Norman Butler of McCormick and a son, Claude Byron Butler of the home. Active pallbearers will be Roger Edwards, Sammy Butler, Ricky Butler, David Brewer, Billy Lothridge and Kevin Bentley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Willis, Wesley Quarles and Jimmy Smith. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Buffalo Baptist Church Land Fund or the Cattleman's Association Youth Education Fund. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church on Tuesday, before the service. The family will receive friends at the residence on Hwy. 28 and the parents will also receive friends at their home on Hwy. 10. Strom Funeral Home is in charge.
