Mr. Robert "Rick" Riccardo (GRANITEVILLE, S.C.)

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Robert "Rick" Riccardo will be held Monday, February 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Evening Light Church of God, Graniteville, SC with the Rev. Leroy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Riccardo, son of the late Joseph and Nola Riccardo was born in New York, NY on July 3, 1941. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. At an early age, Robert gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Graniteville, S.C. Robert was united in holy matrimony to Helen Eliza O'Conner on June 22, 1960. To this union three children were born. Robert received his education from Schofield High School, Aiken, SC. He furthered his education when he joined the New York City Department of Corrections and graduated from the New York City Police Academy in 1969, where he served until he retired in 1978. Robert spent the rest of his time in South Carolina devoting time to his wife, family and friends. Robert leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Helen Riccardo; one son, Michael (Joyce) O'Conner; two daughters, Valeria (Steve) Riccardo and Sabrina Riccardo; two sisters, Marie (Charles) McKie, North Augusta, SC, Lillian Henderson, Emerado, ND; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home beginning 1:00 PM Sunday and at the church Monday from 12 noon until the hour of service.
