STATESBORO, Ga. - Jeremy Slayden, Mike Trapani and Jeff Kindel each had home runs to lead Georgia Tech to a 10-6 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday.
The Eagles (0-1) took a 2-0 lead in first two innings on solo homers by Brett Pelfrey and Logan Phillips.
But Tech (1-1) answered with a four-run third inning highlighted by Trapani's solo homer. Steven Blackwood drove in two runs off a fielding error. Slayden scored another on a sacrifice fly.
Brad Rulon (1-0) allowed two earned runs and four hits in 3 2-3 innings relief.
Georgia Southern starter Dustin Evans yielded eight runs - six earned - and nine hits in 4 1-3 innings for the loss.
