Mr. William O. 'Bill" James (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - William O. 'Bill' James, 78, beloved husband of Margaret Weeks James for nearly 60 years, peacefully entered into rest to be with the Lord Thursday February 10, 2005 at University Hospital. A life long resident of Augusta, attended Richmond Academy was a previous employee of Sig Cox Air Conditioning & Heating Co.; in 1987 he established Bill James & Sons Mechanical Contractor Co.; long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, member of Bill Evans Sunday School Class, served on the board of Directors of Woodbine West Condominiums, and served his country in the U.S. Navy Air Corp Squadron 8 from July 1943 to January 1946. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon February 14, 2005 at 1 P.M. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. L. Gordon Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Michael James, Jeffrey Dyson, Jeremy Dyson, Justin Dyson, Peter Garland J r., Billy Weeks, Louis Parker, Chris Lyons, Billy Waldron and Alvin Pitchford. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Bill Evans Sunday School Class, Horace Foss, Harold Smith and Jamie Golden. Mr. James is survived by his loving wife Margaret J. Weeks James of Augusta, children; Mickey ( Cynthia ) James of North Augusta, SC, Randy ( Joyce ) James of Lyons, GA, Gina ( Steven ) Shapiro of Everett, WA., Toby James of Martinez, GA and Tammie Dyson of Douglasville, GA. Grandchildren; Michael James, Stephen James, Kellie Toth, Kevin Toth, Peter Garland Jr., April Howell, Craig James, Chad James, Jeffrey Dyson, Jeremy Dyson, Justin Dyson and Jessica Dyson. He is also survived by six Great Grandchildren and a brother Robert L. James of Augusta. Mr. James loving spirit will be greatly missed by his loving family and all that knew him.
