Augusta State is seventh in Hawaii
Augusta State's "big three" came through again in the second round of the Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii, but the No. 4- and 5 men weren't quite as sharp.
Scott Jamieson had 3-under-par 69 and Emmett Turner and Kalle Edberg had 70s for the Jaguars, whose other counting score was Wallace Booth's 74. Major Manning, the other Jaguar, had 76.
The result was 5-under-par 283, which was 13 shots higher than the Jaguars' opening score.
Augusta State, in third place after the first round and six shots off the lead, is now in seveth place, 19 shots behind Oklahoma State.
Turner, who opened with 64, is tied for sixth individually, four shots behind Oklahoma State's Tyler Leon.
The tournament, being played at Waikoloa Village Golf Club's Kings' Course, concludes today.

Georgia Southern adds two new foes
Georgia Southern, the defending Southern Conference champion, will take on two teams for the first time in school history in 2005.
Northeastern, an Atlantic 10 Conference member located in Boston, will play host to the Eagles in the season opener Sept. 3. The other new opponent is McNeese State, which will visit Paulson Stadium on Sept. 10.
The Eagles have six home games, but in addition to the trip to Boston, they will travel to South Dakota State as part of a home-and-home series.
The Yellow Jackets will play host to Connecticut on Sept. 17 and travel to Virginia Tech on Sept. 24.
Offensive coordinator Norm Chow joined the Tennessee Titans in the same role Wednesday, the fifth Trojans assistant to leave since they ended their season with a 55-19 rout of Oklahoma in the BCS championship game.
Three of the assistants ñ quarterbacks coach Carl Smith, offensive line coach Tim Davis and Chow ñ moved on to the NFL.
Defensive line coach Ed Orgeron took the head coaching job at Mississippi, then hired Trojans' graduate assistant Dennis Slutak.
Smith moved to the Jacksonville Jaguars as offensive coordinator. Davis left to coach the Miami Dolphins' line.

Lady Jaguars open season with split
Freshman Amy Dumas struck out 12 batters and allowed one hit as Augusta State opened its 2005 season with a 2-0 victory over Armstrong Atlantic State in the first game of a doubleheader.
In the nightcap, Armstrong Atlantic scored four runs in the ninth inning to take a 6-2 victory.
In the opener, Augusta scored its run in the third inning on RBI singles by Anna Tedder and Leigh Schneider.

Schilling sock goes to the Hall of Fame
The Baseball Hall of Fame now has the ultimate red sock to commemorate Boston's first World Series title in 86 years.
Curt Schilling donated the bloody sock he wore during Game 2 of the World Series to the Hall of Fame.
The sock is part of a Red Sox exhibition celebrating the team's four-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Top-seeded Na is upset by Kirilenko
In Hyderabad, India, Maria Kirilenko of Russia beat top-seeded Li Na of China 6-4, 6-3 to reach the Hyderabad Open semifinals for the second consecutive year.
The eighth-seeded Kirilenko next faces India's Sania Mirzan, today.
