Back in time:
Today in regional history:
Feb. 3, 1962
Glassy-eyed, groggy and ready for burial... this was the condition of Swainsboro after Hephzibah's Cinderella Rebels rocketed the Tigers out of contention in the Chronicle-Herald Basketball Tournament.
The Rebels left no doubt about it ñ no thrilling finish as they thrashed the favored Tigers, 63-42, at Bell Auditorium on Friday night.
Keeping a date with the Cinderella kids in tonight's showdown will be the McCormick Panthers.
Though not so spectacular, the Panthers did an effective job of ousting underdog Salley, 65-51.
