Mr. Robert "Bob" Shipley (GROVETOWN, Ga.)



GROVETOWN, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday January 31, 2005, at the University Hospital, Mr. Robert "Bob" Shipley, 75, husband of Mrs. Mary Kelly Shipley, of Grovetown. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2005, at the Philadelphia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Broome officiating. Mr. Shipley, a native of Assumption, Illinois, was a retired U.A. W. Skilled Trades Millwright. He was an Army veteran of Korea, having served as Military Police. He was a former Police Officer for Augusta. He was a member of the Local #72 U.A.W. Union of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and also a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church. Mr. Shipley was a former Assistant Boy Scout Leader of Troup #537 of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and an avid card player and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Shipley; five sons, James Vause, Augusta, Mike Vause, Minooka, Illin ois, Bobby Shipley, Racine Wisconsin, Donald Shipley, Grovetown, and Jeff Shipley, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; and twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 780 Louisville Road, Harlem, Georgia 30814.
