Mrs. Genevia H. Key (DEARING, Ga.)



DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Genevia H. Key, age 63, beloved wife of Mr. James (J.B.) Key died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Upchurch, Rev. Sonny Peevy and Jack McCorkle officiating, burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will lie instate one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Key a native of Glascock County, had worked for Thomson Company for 36 1/2 years before retiring, she was a Christian and member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was nursery worker and also taught Children's Sunday School for more than 20 years along with other numerous services in the church. An example of her life, Her flowers were her children, Her occupation was her family, Her love was her husband, Her belief was in God and his Goodness, Her life was not wasted, Her life was the way we all should live. She will be missed by al l who knew her. Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her parents Rebecca Denton Hobbs and Ralph Pete Hobbs; sister, Inez Johnson; brother, Lonnie Hobbs and is survived by husband of 47 1/2 years, James (J.B.) Key; children, James J. (Sherry) Key of Dearing, Tony (Sherry) Key of Gibson, Tonya K. (Phillip) Brittain of Dalton, GA, Christina K. (Duane) Bruce of Pocahotas, Ill; seven grandchildren, Scott Key, Ben Key, Jared Key, Levi Key, Alyssa Brittain, Christopher Bruce and Zane Brittain; sisters, Cornelia Whitaker of Dearing, Joann Key of Warrenton; brothers, James Hobbs of Phenix City, Ala., Milton Hobbs of Warrenton and Bobby Hobbs of Warrenton and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Skeeter McCorkle, Jerry Newman, Billy Poss, Chris Sinns, Joey Key and Dexter Lovins.
