Aiken authorities said Wednesday they are seeking a local teenager in connection with a Monday night shooting.
A Sheriff's Office spokesman said Dennis W. Floyd, 16, of the 500 block of Polo Drive in Aiken, is wanted on charges of assault and battery with intent to kill, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
According to deputies, Reginald Young, 21, of the 700 block of Banks Mill Road in Aiken, was found shot Monday night lying on the ground outside at Timberlane Apartments. Deputies say the 16-year-old had pistol-whipped Mr. Young inside an apartment. When Mr. Young tried to run away, Mr. Floyd followed him outside with the gun. Mr. Young was then shot in the shoulder, chest and buttocks. He was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
