Russia displays more anti-Semitism

On Page 2A of The Augusta Chronicle on Jan 25, there were two news items that are most mind-boggling.

In one brief, the United Nations is celebrating the 60th. anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and condemning anti-Semitism at the infamous death camp during World War II. Right next to this item is a brief reporting that Russia is officially trying to persecute all the Jewish people in Russia, and revive the anti-Semitism of the 1800s. This initiated the mass immigration of this persecuted people to the United States. In the United States, they have contributed to much of the health and welfare of this country far beyond their number. For instance, more than 30 percent of all Nobel Prize laureates are or were Jews.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and all of his ex-KGB countrymen again are showing their true colors by officially attacking the Russian Jewish community. Please contact our State Department and help stop another Russian pogrom. Yes, we must say "Never again."
