Second period lifts Ice Pilots over Lynx

In Pensacola, Fla., the Ice Pilots scored three consecutive goals in the second period to top Augusta, 4-1 on Friday night at the Pensacola Civic Center.

The Lynx never led in the game, falling behind 1-0 after the first period. Sean Connolly did tie the game at 1-1 early in the second period but Lynx goaltender Jason Saal couldn't hold the lead.

Saal gave up gaols to Aaron Phillips, Bill Kinkel and Alex Materukhin. The Lynx netminder faced 15 shots and was replaced by Matus Kostur to start the third period. Kostur faced 17 shots in the final period.

Ice Pilots goaltender Frederic Cloutier stopped 24 shots for the win.
