Mrs. Deana Muns (SARDIS, Ga.)



SARDIS, Ga. - Mrs. Marie Cullen "Deana" Muns, 83, a life long resident of Burke County, entered into rest Wednesday January 19, 2004 at Burke Medical Center, Waynesboro. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Mrs. Muns was preceded in death by husbands, Perry M. Long, Sr. and Furman Muns; son, Perry M. Long, Jr.; daughter, Annette M. Long Shoemaker; two sisters, Lucille Mobley, Gladys Scott and brother Wyatt A. Cullen, Jr. She is survived by her son, John Arthur Long, Sr. and wife, Ruth of Sardis; six sisters, Hazel Bennett, Atlanta; Geraldine Stokes and husband, Leon, Augusta; Jackie Boyles, Atlanta; Bernice Reid, Martinez; Juanita Elliott and husband, Norman, Sardis; Francis DeLaigle, Waynesboro; two brothers, Thomas Cullen, Augusta and Billy Cullen, Sardis; grandchildren Tommy Bristow and wife, Ester, Lithonia; John A . Long, Jr. and wife, Tina, Woodstock; John Shoemaker, Jackson MS; Wesley Shoemaker, Pensacola, FL; Kelli Long Jenkins and husband, Gene, Jr., Waynesboro; Major Perry Martin Long and wife, Stacy of Germany; son-in-law, Richard Shoemaker, Jackson, MS and daughter-in-law, Linda Long, Yukon, OK. Funeral services will be held today Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Sardis United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy White and Rev. Karen Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marks Cemetery, Sardis. Pallbearers will be Richard Godbee, Charlie DeLaigle, Norman Elliott, Jr., Trey Bennett, Bill Elliott, Freddie Boyles, Mike Mobley, Allen Stokes and Tommy Cullen.
