Ruby "Granny" Spencer Lane (GLOVERVILLE, S.C.)

GLOVERVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, Mrs. Ruby "Granny" Spencer Lane, of 112 Alley Street, Gloverville, SC. She was the wife of the late Mr. J. Murray Lane. Surviving are two daughters, Betty L. Walker of Warrenville, SC and Onita L. Heath of Gloverville, SC; three sisters-in-law, Bessie Clark of Bath, SC, Ruby Toole of North Augusta, SC, Bernice Smith of Warrenville, SC; five grandchildren; Beverly Alfieri, Tommy Walker, Carolyn Owens, Glenda Collison, Tonya Mock and six great-grandchildren, Suzanne Barden, Nikki Mock, Gerald Collison, Kristen Owens, Nick Alfieri and Jessica Owens. Mrs. Lane was born in Columbus, GA to the late Will and Winnie Davis Spencer. She retired from the Bath Mill with 25 years of service and retired from Jerry's Valley Curb with 30 years of service. She was a member of Gloverville First Baptist Church and the Golden Agers Senior Citizens Group. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Gloverville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Youngblood and Mr. Ronnie Duncan officiating. On Saturday, Mrs. Lane will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Mike Mock, Bobby Owens, Tony Alfieri, Gerald Collison, Tom Collison, and Chris Barden. Memorials may be made to the Gloverville First Baptist Church or to Hitchcock Hospice. Friends may call at the residence of Jerry and Onita Heath, 103 Johnson Street, Gloverville, SC or on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. #1, Langley, SC.
