COLUMBIA, S.C. - Florida overcame an eight-point first half deficit to beat South Carolina 67-57 in Southeastern Conference action Sunday afternoon at the Colonial Center.
The Gators (12-5, 3-1 SEC) were led by Tamia Williams, who hit five 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 21 points. Bernice Mosby added 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Tashia Moorhead had 16 points, including four 3-pointers.
The Gamecocks (6-11, 1-3) had just two players in double figures: Angela Hunter with 12 and Ilona Burgrova with 10.
South Carolina was able to take advantage of turnovers in the first half to take a 35-27 halftime lead. But Florida shut down the Gamecocks in the second half.
