CHARLESTON, S.C. - Warren McLendon scored 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead The Citadel to a 76-65 victory over Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon.

McLendon went 6-for-13 and Kevin Hammack added 13 points for the Bulldogs (9-3, 2-1 Southern Conference), who took a 35-29 lead into halftime on Travis Smith's 3-pointer from half-court, which beat the buzzer.

The Bulldogs, who held Geor- gia Southern to 29 percent shooting, extended their lead to 40-32 four minutes into the second half.

Georgia Southern (6-7, 1-2) was led by Terry Williams and Donte Gennie, who each scored 12 points. Jean Francois added ten and pulled down seven rebounds.

IN CHARLESTON, S.C., DONTAYE DRAPER SCORED 22 POINTS TO LEAD THE COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON TO A victory over Wofford.

Bernard Jackson added 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Cougars (10-3, 3-0), who won their seventh game in a row.

Howard Wilkerson scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Wofford (8-6, 1-2).

FURMAN 76, EAST TENNESSEE STATE 68

In Johnson City, Tenn., Ben Earle scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers in a two-minute stretch to lift Furman to a victory over East Tennessee State.

ETSU (4-9, 0-3) led by as many as five in the second half before the Paladins took the lead for good, 52-51, off Earle's 3-pointer with 9:14 to go.

There had been 16 lead chan- ges and 10 ties to that point, but Earle hit two more 3-pointers during the run to give Furman (8-6, 1-1) a 60-53 lead with 7:04 left.

The Buccaneers scored the next four points to cut the lead to 60-57, but couldn't get any closer. Moussa Diagne finished with 17 points, Robby Bostain scored 13 , Eric Webb had 11 and Nicholas Sanders added 10 for the Paladins.

UNC GREENSBORO 84, APPALACHIAN STATE 79

In Boone, N.C., Kyle Hines scored a career-high 23 points on 11-for-13 shooting to lift UNC Greensboro to a win against Appalachian State.

Hines made his first eight shots from the field as the Spartans (9-4, 2-0) stopped the Mountaineers' home-game winning streak at six.

Derek Thomas led the Mountaineers (6-6, 1-2) with 18 points and Chris McFarland added 12.

In Elon, N.C., Brendan Winters scored 17 points and Logan Kosmalski had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Davidson past Elon.
