Brenda B. Cole has joined Augusta School of Massage/ Tuscany, A Classic Italian Spa, as office manager. Ms. Cole previously held several supervisory positions and managed her own medical-billing business for 10 years.
Gail Cooper has been named assistant manager of SRP Federal Credit Union's North Belair Road branch, scheduled to open early this year. She has been with the credit union for more than 20 years and was most recently the assistant branch manager for the Peach Orchard Road branch.
Renee Rinder has been promoted to SRP's credit administration manager. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina Aiken and was previously employed at Wachovia Bank as a branch manager.
Pat Altman has joined the credit union as manager of the new Edgefield, S.C., branch. She has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry and is a recipient of the North Augusta Business Woman of the Year Award.
Jim Frock has been promoted to security supervisor of Brandon Wilde, making him responsible for security and transportation at the assisted living community. He joined the center as a fitness instructor last year.
Richard D. Tobias has been named vice president of facilities services for MCG Health Inc., making him responsible for management and administration of MCG Health properties. He has 15 years of health-care industry experience and previously was system director of design and construction services with the South Broward Hospital District in Hollywood, Fla. He earned a bachelor's degree from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich.
Jennifer Slavens has joined the certified public accounting and financial planning firm of McManus and Bone LLP as a staff accountant. Ms. Slavens, who has previously worked as an internal accountant, will be responsible for assisting clients with accounting, bookkeeping and software installation.
Brandon Briscoe has joined engineering firm Johnson, Laschober & Associates PC's structural department. Mr. Briscoe currently studies computer design graphics at Augusta Technical College and was previously employed by Columbia County Roads and Bridges.

Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund, the philanthropic arm of Bridgestone Americas Holding, donated more than $50,000 to Aiken County nonprofit organizations in 2004, including Aiken Technical College Foundation, Public Education Partners of Aiken, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and the Aiken Center for the Arts.
Becky Hodges and Kitty Garrett, registered nurses for St. Joseph Hospital, were recognized for writing the textbook Hemodynamic Monitoring.

The Comcast Foundation contributed $6,720 to the Golden Harvest Food Bank through Comcast Cares Day, in which 200 Augusta-area Comcast employees volunteered nearly 1,000 hours collectively.
Mike Lacey, of Augusta Lincoln Mercury, recently attended the four-day Ford Motor Co. new dealers seminar in Dearborn, Mich.
Jenette Smalley was named Brandon Wilde's 2004 Employee of the Year. Ms. Smalley, an employee since 2000, works as a Level II waitress in the main dining room.
MAU Inc. has been selected No. 41 on Minority Business News USA's top 100 minority suppliers. The national magazine, which focuses on minority business enterprises and diversity, created the list based on 2003 revenues.
Mike Troup has been named the inaugural recipient of the Gerald Jones Dealer Group's Emmett Walker Employee of the Year Award. The award recognizes employees who have displayed outstanding service and dedication in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the dealership group. The designation is named after Emmett Walker, a 30-year employee of the dealership group, who died in January
2004.
