Brown Bag series: The Augusta Museum of History will hold its monthly Brown Bag History Series at noon at the museum, 560 Reynolds St. For more information, call 722-8454.

Amateur Radio classes: Entry level amateur radio classes will begin at 7 p.m. at Aiken Preparatory School, 619 Barnwell Ave., N.W. The class, taught by the North Augusta/Belvedere Radio Club, will provide information on Skywarn and other emergency communications to help protect yourself and the community. The classes are free. Moms Club meeting: The Aiken Moms Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 117 Hard St., New Ellenton. The club will be planning the activities calendar for February. There also will be a Kidz Club, providing activities for children of the mothers attending the meeting. Town and Country Club meeting: The Aiken Town and Country Club meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. at The Etherredge Center, 471 University Parkway, Aiken. Budget requests for Augusta's 1962 budget are higher than last year, but officials expect the final figure will be about the same as 1961.

The Budget Commission will meet Jan. 24-25 for two all-day sessions to study departmental requests and draw up the temporary budget by Jan. 31.

The 1961 permanent budget totaled $5.32 million with a tax mill rate of 15.25. The permanent budget and tax rate must be set by March 31.
