In mid-December my wife and I visited the new Augusta-Richmond County Animal Services facility at 4164 Mack Lane. The visit was a pleasant surprise as we found what I would describe as a state-of-the-art facility being run in a highly proficient manner.
The building was clean and sanitary and the personnel we met were knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. The animals were all treated humanely. I commend both employees and volunteers for their pro- fessionalism and unselfish service.
Richmond County should be proud of this facility, which I would classify as one of the finest in the state.
