TRIVIA: Touted by members of R.E.M. as an influence, the band had not played in 13 years before reforming for a one-off show in August. When the band called it quits in 1991, the deal was sealed by an everything-must-go sale of its equipment. Bass player Michael Lachowski came up with the name Pylon while working at DuPont Chemical. The band made its first public appearance in 1979, opening for the Tone Tones. Drummer Curtis Crowe is the head of construction on the ABC series Lost.
