Mrs. Rebecca Schwabe (SWAINSBORO, Ga.)



SWAINSBORO, Ga. - Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary announces the death of Rebecca Taylor Schwabe, age 82, of Swainsboro on Monday, December 27, 2004, at her residence after an extended illness. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30th, at 11 AM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne DeFore and Rev. Susan Blair officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Mrs. Schwabe will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Wednesday evening from 5 - 7:30 PM. Mrs. Schwabe, a native of Peach County, taught school in Fitzgerald, GA, Metter, GA and Swainsboro for thirty years. She was twice honored as Star Teacher and was a charter member and first president of the Beta Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member and former Regent of the David Emanuel Chapter of the Daughters of The American Revolution and received her 50 year membership certi ficate this year. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Bible Study Circle. Mrs. Schwabe was wife of the late Ed Schwabe, Sr. Survivors include three sons, Francis Edward Schwabe, Jr. of Swans Island, ME, Charles Taylor Schwabe of Swainsboro and Jonathan Schwabe of Cedar Rapids, IO; four grandchildren, Clarke Schwabe and Phillip Schwabe of Swainsboro, Kate Schwabe of New York, NY and LT Clay Schwabe of Ft.
