Mrs. Myrtle Peebles Curry (SWAINSBORO, Ga.)



SWAINSBORO, Ga. - Southern Heritage Funeral Home of Swainsboro announces the death of Mrs. Myrtle Peebles Curry, age 79, of Swainsboro, on December 15, 2004 in the Swainsboro Nursing Home after a brief illness. Mrs. Curry was born in Emanuel County. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and had served as Treasurer of the Shellman's Bluff Baptist Church. She was a licensed funeral director and a member of the Georgia Funeral Director Association. She was cofounder of Peebles-Curry Mortuary Inc. and Curry's Feed and Seed Store of Swainsboro and Little River Sportsman Camp at Clarkhill Lake. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law J. Gary and Lois S. Curry of Midville; a son-in-law Wayne Sammons and wife Tammy of Swainsboro; four grandchildren, Matthew W. Sammons, Shea Sammons, Julie Holloway and husband Craig, and Mitchell Curry; two great granddaughters Curry Holloway and Ryleigh Holloway. She was preceded in death by her husband William Edmond Curry and their daughter Sherry Curry Sammons. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and Marty McLeod officiation. Burial will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery in Swainsboro. Pallbearers will be nephews: Dr. Jimmy Peebles, David Curry, Bobby Peebles, Roger Peebles, Jeffery Peebles and Donald Peebles. Visitation with family and friends will be on Thursday, December 16, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. A luncheon will be held at the Calvary United Methodist Church concluding the service.
