Mr. Angus Porter Godbee (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Angus Porter Godbee, beloved husband of Ruth Hall Godbee, entered into rest December 12, 2004 at Medical College of Ga. Funeral services will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel, today, December 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother in Christ James R. Waid officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Godbee was a trapper and hunter in his younger years. As a teenager, he was a member of CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp.) and helped establish parks throughout the country and especially Magnolia Springs in Millen. He joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII. He made his home with his wife Ruth in the Augusta area where he worked a machinist for United Fabrication. Upon retiring, he enjoyed farming, producing the best tomatoes in the area. Mr. Godbee was also a member of Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Ruth, his children, grandchildren and especially the grea t-grandchildren. He leaves behind his children; Howard (Patsy) Hall Jr., Augusta, Wayne (June) Hall, Martinez, Velvet (Guy) Hammonds, Grovetown and Elaine (Steve) Whisenhunt, Martinez; several grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
