Mrs. Marian Jenkins Broome (ATLANTA, Ga.)



ATLANTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, December 13, 2004 at the DeKalb Medical Center in Atlanta, Mrs. Marian Jenkins Broome, 91, formerly of Augusta. Mrs. Broome retired as a teacher after more than 20 years with the Richmond County School System. She was the widow of the late Harold Bruce Broome of Augusta and his brother Louis Clinton Broome of Avondale Estates, Ga. She was a graduate of Young Harris College and Georgia State College for Women. Family members include her daughters; Sandra Hoffman of Stone Mountain, Linda Sundstrom of Gainesville, and Judi Stewart of Signal Mountain,Tn; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a step-daughter; Josephine Wills of Birmingham, Al., stepsons; Thomas Broome of Dacula and Jack Broome of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in Atlanta at the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. In Augusta, a chapel service will be held at Thomas Poteet and Son on Saturday, December 18, 200 4 at 12:00 noon and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at Thomas Poteet and Son.
